Other cards, like this one, deal with Jesus' teachings. The text comes from the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus talked about the nature of discipleship. The sermonette explicates the text; the most dramatic visual image of the sermon--the house built on sand--appears on the front. "And great was the fall thereof." The drama of the picture helped to seal the message for the children receiving the card.
